It does smell lovely, but it doesn't make it to the top of the list of my favourites. Extremely balanced gourmand! I could never make it a signature as it was way too sweet for everyday but whenever I did, you would know when I was in the room. I had Elie Saab rose which was beautiful but short lived ..til I sadly smashed the bottle. I tested LVEB today and I'm glad I didn't blind buy it. I don't like it because it is so intense, it has a gigantic trail that leaves everyone nauseous. It even beats Coco Mademoiselle and that’s something. Best way I can explain it is that sweetness in a perfume is like a smile on a face - it can be fun and happy and self-aware, or it can be fake. This one gets compared to V+F Flowerbomb a lot. When I first sniffed it years ago, I thought it smelled generic, overly sweet and kind of cheap, I didn’t give it a chance to develop. Technically perfect. There's no wood, no smoke, no dirtiness. Sweet, elegant and feminine scent! I like the original on others but not on myself because the cassis note is very headache inducing for me. It's popular for a reason. So, so very sweet. Reminds me of the dark rose in Portrait of a Lady (Malle), but not that oppressive, More sparkling. It actually smells kind of sexy on me, LOL. When I finally bought it, I totally understood why people compare it with Flowerbomb. It smells cheap and dated. Such a shame because I really wanted to own this iconic perfume. Feminine, but more in a girly, youthful sort of way. Much better than the original, imo, which I don't like. That’s exactly what it is to me. It lasts just as long as the original, and is a sweet rosy/berry jump sideways from LVEB. It's timeless, feminine, and elegant. Very hard to get rid of, once you put it on.
